Who are we?
We're expats, just like you ! And yes, we've been through the expatriation process, and that was far from being easy !
All the members of SOS Expat Shanghai have been living abroad at least once in their lifes. We all know how difficult it is to adapt to a new country, a new culture, a new life !
We believe that some part of this process is made of personal experience, but we believe that experiencing some problems such as administrative issues, visa procedures, legal issues...isn't necessary when you arrive in China.
That's why we started SOS Expat. Our goal is to make sure you're living a great abroad experience.
And that goes through quality services at good prices !

Why quality?Shanghai is a fast growing city, with a lot of business opportunities. There are many services companies in Shanghai (visa agencies, travel agencies, real estate companies...) which sacrified the quality of their services to focus on their profit.
Ok, so what are you guys doing at SOS Expat ?
We believe that we can improve services quality in Shanghai. SOS Expat is acting as an intermediate layer which will bring this quality back. We're not an agency dedicated to specific services, we provide a large range of services, and review the quality of each of our partners.
How do you do that ?
Well, we do have some magic recipes that we cannot give away here. All you have to know is that we're reviewing the quality of the services in Shanghai after and before selling it to our customers. We permanently run quality surveys as well, and much more. Your opinion is the most important for us ! We do have the knowledge of the expat market and of your needs, and we're able to bring you great services at a good prices.

More and more people like you arrive every day and month in Shanghai. This is a big city but surprisely, it's often hard to find a nice place to live. Why? Because chinese standards are different than ours. That's why we started our housing service. We're not an agency, we're an intermediate layer beetween you and the chinese agents. You're never alone when you're visiting a flat, we speak your language, and we make sure that you're visiting places corresponding to high standards.
SOS Expat Mornings
SOS Expat Mornings is a free helpdesk which is held every morning, from 10 to 11, from monday to friday, in a convenient location of Shanghai (usually on metro line 2)
We used to welcome you at the Donut King of Jing'An temple but the internet connection isn't really good there, that's why the SOS Expat Mornings are currently on hold until we find a better location.
Every morning, you can come to join a member of the SOS Expat team, to get answers to any of your questions.
It's free (except if you're tempted by one of these sweet donuts) and also a good way to solve your everyday life problems ;)

Yes, we enjoy helping expats in Shanghai, but we also know how to celebrate and enjoy awesome nightlife moments !
